Any Other Parrotheads Out There?

I went to Buffet's concert in Palm Beach last night, Alan Jackson jumped on the pile too. Great dedication to Buffet's buddy, Ed Bradley. He broke up on the closing song and had to cut it short.

I remember when JB was a good ol' boy from Alabama who loved the 'islands' - not a lib from Martha's Vineyard who loves the Hamptons (Long Island). It's been every bit of 20 years since he made a decent album.
It's too bad Buffett is now but a shadow of his old self.

Rich, he's still there, just older.

I jumped off of the bandwagon when he went political. Just what we need, somebody trying to save an invasive species while the world is collapsing around us. Jimmy and I have a love/hate relationship.

I always found it interesting to read about the celeb that came Alabama. There were many. Buddy Killen (RIP) was raised inmy neighborhood. I live/own in a house his kin had owned at one time. Wife worked with one of his daughters. Parents rented a house to one country star for a while. No big deal, just interesting to me. Most of the girls I knew had pretty good grills (teeth) too! Well, there was that one.... You know I guess wildcat/moonshine at its place at one time or another .

He has never really had a decent album IMO. He is incredibly good at marketing with a few great songs. Don’t get me wrong it plays at all my cook outs in the summer but he really is not that great of a performer just good at selling. He admits it.

I second what ryan said. He knows how to put on a show. I can't even buy tickets anymore. Shows sell out is less than 10 min. I guess I will have to stop at 26 concerts!

I think he had some GREAT albums up until the early 80's - and 1 or 2 after that. Some of the tunes that never see the light of day over the airwaves are my favorites.
After 20 years of seeing at least 2 of his shows a year I stopped going about 7 or 8 years ago. Aside from the unavailablity of tix, the 'Dead Heads' started following JB around and the parking lot parties got out of hand. At the last show I went to a guy cut me across my head with a Buck knife after I objected to him pissin' down the side of my truck. For me, that was a "no mas" moment. I still listen to my favorite JB tunes at least 3 times a week.
