Amtrak Police - Mobile Command Center
Passed this bus heading south through Bellingham, WA at around 281448UFEB10.
I can see why security cost a trillion dollars. Every swingin' henry is coming from all over the place to "provide security" (over-time pay and party). The license plate said MP for Metro Police and the state was Illinois The map is for time zone designations - I live in Uniform |

Re: Amtrak Police - Mobile Command Center
Sounds like they're supposedly protecting trains and their tracks from terrorism/terrorists ??, - - probably 'created' jobs (that require at least a 6th-grade education).

Re: Amtrak Police - Mobile Command Center
Dude, they have this trillion dollar truck and yet if a terrorist wanted to blow up all 5 tracks on the northeast corridor a couple miles north of Metropark they wouldn't even need to cut a fence to get on the tracks.

Re: Amtrak Police - Mobile Command Center
That bus is about $300,000 to $500,000. I just finished a project to unscrew a screwed up wiring job on one of these mobile command units for a local muni who got a grant from DHS for it. Its really nice and it actually is worth its cost for managing a crisis because of the advanced commo gear in them. Problem is that DHS is giving away grants for this stuff to anyone with a "police department" and "Anti Terrorist Response" on the request for funds. Your tax dollars at work.
