I admit it, I don't see why this better then texting.

Just got an invitation to join from a friend and just don't see the reason for all of the excitement...........

Feel free to fill me in on the reasons why it's better then texting and why I should join.

I think twitter is way more hype then reality. If I was a celebrity or something where I had an audience that cared it would be different. For the rest of us I think it's just a waste of time and wishful thinking anything of substance is going to come of it.

Even the celebrity stuff is sanitized to the point of sounding like press releases.
I honestly don't know of one person who uses it. I could see it being helpful in organizing a heist of some sort, but really I am neither self-important enough to think people want to "follow"me, or interested following anyone else.

One good resource is a book called "Twitter Revolution" by Deborah Micek Warren Whitlock. Some hype in the book but definitely great tips.

I have one also. I check mine daily. My son who is Iraq sends me messages on a fairly regular basis and his girlfriend who is Colorado Springs also messages me fairly regular.

They are planning to get married here in Pa, when he returns and she is trying to get some of the planning done. I also use it to just kinda keep an eye on my Goddaughter. She just lost her 11 year old younger brother in a motocross accident....She does regular blogs and it gives me an idea where her head is at.

I had an invite to join the twitter crowd a couple of weeks ago...I think not

I use twitter, but mainly just to get updates from a concealed carry group that I belong too. They send out updates on legislation that is going through the house and senate here in Ohio.
