$50...small Price To Pay For A Cherry Tree Moment
I was rebuilding my 4 year old son's Lego BatWing and I couldn't find a critical hinge piece. I asked if he knew what happened to it.
He looked a bit nervous, but then finally responded that he lost it outside in the front lawn...and that it was probably lost forever because momma mowed the grass 2 times since then. He knew that he was not to take his complex legos outside, unless it was on the back patio (to keep track of pieces) and said he was sorry to have done that. After thinking about it...I realized that he chose to be honest about his actions. He is a stand up guy at 4 years old. I'm a happy dad. And now he also learns the lesson of consequences...when mom or dad say to do something....it is because we are looking out for the best overall outcome. Now he has to live with the fact that his BatWing will not be fully operational, due to his lack of paying attention to detail and not obeying standard operational procedures. (A win in the lessons learned column) Now I just need to figure out how to teach him about how Our government works......just lie, cheat and steal and you get to stay in power and screw the nation.....consequences??? Yeah right, WTF??? |

You should write an article on how you reared and raised a child of such integrity because at that age Lying is next to breathing!!!!! It is a time of "Pushing Limits" and "Testing Parents" and "Seeing What Is Acceptable and What Is Not". Ya done good!!!!

Oh, you know you'll try to rig up something to replace the missing piece. I always do. Or I'll stop at garage sales or church sales and dig thru the kid crap until I find the piece. Whenever my son asks how I find something lost of his I always them him it is Papa Magic.
