2 Hrs ago, after the first report, I turned to my Judy and said his girlfriend didn't come home last night. She asked how I figured that. So I told her that's why he went to her 10:00 class and started shooting......sometimes the sick mind is so freakin transparent.

Reminds me of the tower sniper at UT back in the summer of 66. No rhyme, no reason.

Crazy stuff... I've been watching the press conference on TV.
It's 32 dead now. Worst massacre in US history. That puts in into perspective.

I just said the same thing in another post. If everyone had a gun or had to carry, then there would not be as many killed.

You need to take the violence out of people. Remove guns and people will still be inclined to cause physical harm of some type with other tools or bare hands.

Re: 33 Students Killed A V-Tech!!

This is redicilous! 30 + dead and counting with so many in critical condition. I have also heard it was over a girlfriend boyfriend situation on another forum. People are out of their minds. You'd have to have a serious mental disorder or be on a lot of drugs to kill 32 people because your girlfriend made you angry. Imagine how the parents of the kids that were killed and the shooters parents feel from this kid who got a crazy idea killing people would make himself feel better .

Once again same thing I said in the other post. Hopefully through some prayer and counseling the families will find closure. I dont want to bring politics or religeon into this but my goodness. Especially over something as small as a g/f break up.

Re: 33 Students Killed A V-Tech!!

wow,it does happen.
I'm at a loss for words. The level of stupidity and disrespect for human life,my god good thing they killed him.
More people need to admit that guns don't do the killing and laws won't keep the bad guys from having them.I'd always like to know I had a chance.
I don't posess the vocabulary or the necessary grammer skills to make a intellectual rebuttal on the gun control debate so.....

There probably was a reason. Still a new story. Shooter killed his ex girlfriend first, they say. Maybe the rest we're random, maybe not.
Maybe he wanted the title of "worst shooting in US history" under his belt. None of us know. It's a sad day, nonetheless. The families are the one's who suffer much longer than anyone else.

Re: 33 Students Killed A V-Tech!!

On CNN this morning, they said that hand guns can be purchased without any ID or registration or waiting period.

At least a waiting period would have given some time for a cooling down process to have taken place.

and where in the United States is this possable? buying a hand gun requires BATF background check and registration, ID, background check depending on local, and that the buyer be over 21- just a guess that a residence hall student is unlikely to be over 21, so unless his parents bought the guns for him (legal grey area, and probably more to the illegal side), he aquired them illegally. whether that was a straw buyer, stolen gun, or what remains to be seen. they recovered the guns- if it was a straw buyer, then he will be going away for a long long time.

They reported that that was in that state of Virginia.

Maybe state regulations vary from the national guidelines?
