Wall Paper Removal Over Hardwood Floors

I have been removing wall paper recently over carpet. Anyone have a good way to protect nice hardwood floors in a room where I am removing the paper.
My method is diff and hot water in a pumping jug. I am thinking of
covering the floor in plastic and then drop cloths. Any ideas?

I say...1st masonite, then drop cloths, then plastic. I have seen ladders put dents and scratches in engineered wood flooring. It wouldn't be much of a stretch to believe it could happen to hard wood.

I always lay paper, tape the paper to the shoe mold using blue tape, then lay down butyl backed drop cloth.
