Re: Pricing Out Hanging Wallpaper

If you can get 2.75/sq.ft more power to you. Does this include the wallcovering? Even if it does, you should still be able to make a tidy profit. What part of the world is this job. Either way, you should be able to find a quailty installer for $.80 to a $1.25 per squre ft.... even one of those guild bozos, Good luck pal, try not to hire a hack...Matt

I really oughta look at the profiles of these bozo's.

For some reason I thought it was "that bald guild bozo from New Yaark", but I got thrown - thought maybe TomEHarp was resurfacing

Sorry Matt. Mea Culpa.

Re: Pricing Out Hanging Wallpaper

Hey thanks for all the response. I got the name of a wallpaper person and they gave me number (forgive me this is a older topic so dont remember qoute). They were very helpful in explaining how they came up with this number. I did not get the job by the way. I paint, so I like to just stick with that because everytime I try to do something that I am not a pro at (carpentry etc.) it bites me in the butt. Next time I have to bid a wallpaper job I will go to the NGPP site and look for some contact numbers.

Re: Pricing Out Hanging Wallpaper

Usually I charge by the yard, high end 15.00 per yard for 54", 2.75 sounds a little high but if you can get that much go for it.

If There is roughly 400 sq. ft. of wall space that needs vinyl wallcovering what would be the cost per sq. ft. of wall space? I no that there are variable's such as cost of paper, speed of hanger etc. If I came in at $2.75 per sq. ft. of wall space would that be fair presuming that they are not using a "special paper". I know I am shooting in the dark but any responses would be appreciated. thanks

Re: Pricing Out Hanging Wallpaper

CTPCORP,

I have turned down a lot of jobs with wallpaper. Just turned down bidding a McDonalds and a Haagen-Dazs because of the amount of wallpaper involved. It is hard to bid when you have no idea of what things cost. I will just stick to painting.

Re: Pricing Out Hanging Wallpaper

Riley,

is that going rate you quote a nation wide rate?

is it also the same for large hotels vs small jobs like a DQ or small Dr's office or even residential ?
