Re: Need Pasting Table

Are you handy ?

Make your own.

No seriously, many of us have made our own, whether they are boards for trestles or box style.

BTW, which style do you prefer, boards & trestles or box ?

I like box, 30 inches wide by 6' (made it about 25 years ago). I have a side extension to increase the width to handle 36" goods.

paintstoreonline.com has a bunch of good selections

Yes, Paint Store online. Basswood is king. I prefer the 3/4" thickness in 6' lengths. Buy a 4 board set, two sets of trestles (you'll need them for stability, the 4 board size trestles wont give you that kind of stability), and a Magnesium straight edge. Aluminum will mar some wallpapers. I like to put lead tape under my straightedges for extra weight. The more the better. My straightedges weigh at least twice as much as they did when I bought them.

Now, if you want to make your own boards, go whole hog like I did and make them out of laminated pine. I used cherry strips for the breadboard ends, mortise and tenon style. I laminated 3 narrower boards to make each of the 4 boards. Here are three of them in the photo, right before I finished them with Draw Tite.
