English Paperhanger / Painter moving to Naples Fl

Hi Guys,

I'm just new to the forum and I wondered if you could give me some advice?

Next year we will be moving from England to Naples Fl and eventually I hope to set up business there.

I have been in the painting trade for 38 years (man & boy) and have run my own business for 20 years.

In England I tend to work in a lot of historic properties which I know is a world apart from the bright modern homes in Naples.

Can anyone give me any insight to the possible problems I may face in setting up business in the US?

Is there much call for traditional effects such as Lincrusta, Wallpaper, Venetian Plaster etc in Florida?

Any advice you can offer would be gratefully recieved.

Many thanks

Lee

Florida is a pretty big state. I have not been there personally. The work you're offering is very high end. There are a lot of retirees living it up down there. Could be the right place.

You will need to get a contractors license from the state of FL. I would be very careful in that market there are many people upside down in their houses.
