Two Doors - One Jamb?

I'm doing a pretty small full bath (50 sqft), and am trying to squeeze out every inch of floorspace possible. It will have a full height closet right behind the door. (2-6 LH entry inswing, 2-0 RH closet).

I had a crazy thought of trying to make it so they both hinge from the same point. There would still be two jambsets (90 deg from each other), but they would be tight in the corner, so the hinges align.

Outside casing would be normal, but inside, it would wrap around the corner, over both doors...

Any one ever tried or seen this done?? Too funky??

I have a setup like that in my house...one hinges where the other strikes.

Want me to snap a few shots for you later on?

Yeah, that would be cool...thanks. I'm trying to figure out how to post a sketchup of what I'm talking about.

Re: Two Doors - One Jamb?

Very nice drawing

You may have an issue on top where the casings meet...in 1950 when this house was built, they just left it gapped up there ~ I caulked over it

One caveat ~ if BOTH walls are not 100% plumb, it'll look like poopies later - I can snap a shot of that too if you like ....I have two pocket doors that meet at 90° that did NOT come out as I wanted - I don't know why, but it must have been some error on the part of a carbon life form

Both walls will be new framing, so they will be plumb...that's what makes it Timeless
