shower bench that has benn hot mopped
Good afternoon,
I have a question i was hoping you would answer.
I have installed a shower bench in the corner of my shower. The bench and the floor has been hot mopped.
How do i install tile up the face of the bench as well as on top of the bench over the hot mop. Do i use mortar up the side of the bench so the tile can stick? and if so how will i apply the mortar. do i need the small wire mesh in order to hold the mortar in place and keep it from sluffing down.

Actually careys, I have taken one out that was done by a HO or hack just like you.
At least you were smart enough to realize thats not how its done, or are you pissed that the tar is to cold to do that now? Now be a good little boy or girl & go to the DIY site, or hire someone who knows what their doing.

You mix tar, grout, a dash of mortar and the tiles in a big mixing pan, let simmer for 20 minutes at room temperature, apply tiles. Seats 3.

you guys never answered the question... Only made lame ass remarks.. Are you truly a contractor, or are you a wanna be weekend handyman???? I would hate to see the work you guys produce. I simply asked a question. Nobody was able to answere. Or you guys tried to sell some east coast bull**** product. The real question now would be if any of you even know how to address my original question...or would you rather beat around the bush and try to proclaim how to do it...Talk **** about spelling, let alone half of you probably don't know how to read a tape. This aint the east coast boys, were a little more advanced..
Thanks for your time, or should I say waste of it....

Not likely to, either. You may not have noticed when registering, but this site is for professionals. Among other things, that generally implies that they already know how to ply their trade, at least generally.
Your initial question does nothing at all to indicate that you are anything more than a do-it-yourselfer, whose questions would be more appropriately placed in the DIY Forum.
Sorry, but these guys have worked hard for their knowledge, and have no incentive to give it away for free to those who should instead be paying customers.
