Restoration/Renovation

Woohoo Today I started a restoration/renovation of a 1906 victorian in Redlands, Ca. I have a lot of challenges on this one. Lath and plaster falling down, K & T wiring on a 15 amp service, outdated plumbing, and a lot of years of neglect/poor maint. It does have a good roof and foundation though. Wish me luck!:

Good Luck.

I envy you. I would much rather restore an old house with character then these new construction cookie cutter houses

I seriously doubt it, but best of luck anyhow. We love pictures here, so posting a few here and there would be super!

Re: Restoration/Renovation

good luck on your "project"-mine is a 250+ year old farm house- this had 12 seperate fuse boxes-the best was that almost wire was crossed somewhere in the house? And there was a live wire running out to the old pump house that is next to the old windmill-That scared me more-I was very suprised it never burnt down before I owned it-200 amps moved in before we did-
again, post those pics-I bet she's a beauty-

Re: Restoration/Renovation

Rehabber, I just finished a 10 month rehab on a 1905 victorian/craftsman brick 3 story to convert it back into a single family after it was broken up into three apartments in the '40s.
It looks fantastic and the owner is a #10 on a 1-10 scale! Electric, plumbing upgrades, new ceilings and I had to completely rebuild the foyer staircase and rear stairway since they were torn out when 3 plexed. Good luck on yours. Joe.
