Moving The Laundry Room Back Where It Was

I am a masonry guy, so this is a little out of my league, but my wife insists, so I have to do it.

Situation:

The garage/utility room was converted into a library. A few walls were moved, a section of the floor was raised (from the garage level to the main house level, 6"), and the old utility area was converted into a small (8x14) second kitchen for the previous owners catering business.

I have located all of the old plumbing/electrical hookups, but I can not find the dryer vent on the exterior. They either did a great job of patching the rock exterior, or it vented through the roof, which I won't do.

My questions:

I can run the dryer vent under the raised floor section, and then out the side of the house through the new waterheater closet (about a 15' run). What should I use for that vent, hard pipe or flex?

I want to move several light switches and a couple of electrical boxes, should I go ahead and rip out the sheet rock, since the walls are covered with crap wallpaper anyway? I will probably be doing some stucco and cultured stone for most of the walls, but my sheetrock skills are nil, and some will have to taped and floated.

Thanks in advance.

I run hard vent pipe for the venting if for no other reason then for resilience if you ever want to snake that pipe out to get rid of lint build up. I also use a prebuilt box called a dryer box in the wall that recesses the vent in the room.

As far as tearing out the drywall, I guess I would have to see it, it also depends on how good your wire snaking skills are.

Thanks for the info, Mr. Finley. The only fishing I do is offshore, plus me and Mr. Electricity do not get along, so I think I will have to remove all of the sheetrock to move the boxes. I just tried to take digis of the room, but the batteries were dead in my camera.
