maibec shingles

I just ordered about 40 sqs. of nantucket wc wood shingles. I have been reading some bad reviews on other sites. Any suggestions on installation that is not giving problems. Seems that contractors are following manufactures instrctions and still having problems with cupping. I only do wood shingles every couple of years, any new installation tips. Using coil siding gun to install.

Shingles

Living on Nantucket, I only see about. oh every single house done in these. Is this for roofing or sidewalling? One thing I know....if all of your walls are on the north side, you are ok. I would say that cupping is really a fairly minor issue here. Maybe in places where there are more extremes in weather it is more of a problem, but I just reshingled here, after 18 years, south side was beat up, north side would have lasted another 35 years. Cedar breather used quite alot here, but only on roofs, which are usually red cedar... gl
