Hiding Wires For Wall Mounted Plasma TV
What method do you use to hide all the wires behind a plasma TV that's hanging on the wall?
I'll be painting and flooring the room anyway, so I will open up the wall and a little piece of the floor to run some electrical conduit or PVC along a stud. The wires will slip down to the floor unobstructed, and any components added later on can easily be run through. There will be a short wall unit under the TV that will house the DVD player, cable box, etc. The satellite dish cables come up through the floor from the basement. Does this sound right or is there an easier way?

Re: Hiding Wires For Wall Mounted Plasma TV
There's two methods that I use.
If you'll only need to plug in the TV, and have the coax from the components to the TV, I install a receptacle and a cable plate behind the TV. The coax from the cable plate goes to the cable box location. IF.... you're gonna be running multiple cables to the TV (S-video, R,G,B, cables, audio, etc), I install a 2 gang box behind the TV and run a piece of 2" ENT (blue stuff) from that box to the component's location. Hope that helps.... |
