Re: Filling Nail Holes In Trim

We used to use DAP "33" glazing all the time when it was getting painted with oil based paint. It will bleed through latex. If it was too oily we would smash it out on cardboard for awhile.

Just a repsonse to my previous " Glazing Putty Recommendation"

It covers nicely. Never had any issues with oil / drying / or showing nail holes.

Doesnít sound like anything is perfect. Guess Iíll stick to my timbermate. Itís not cheap but it works better than any of the spacklers. It sands really well too.

Re: Filling Nail Holes In Trim

I use Dap painters putty 53 it has the same consistency as window glazing but not as oily so it doesn't bleed through latex top coats, I have my guys slightly over fill the holes and lightly rub the excess off with a worn in sanding sponge looks perfect every time

Mix in about 25% spackle, it sands easier.
