Commercial Kitchen Stainless

Okay, I have a commercial restuarant remodel job that the owner wants stainless on the walls in the kitchen. My question is behind the hood/cook area how do you attach to the wall?
The walls are currently block... I can glue all the other areas but I am concerned that the heat will be to much and release the glue behind the hood/cook area.

Re: Commercial Kitchen Stainless

I worked for my father for about 10 years doing nothing but stainless fabrication and installs for restaurants, schools, and big cafeterias. Many times I have put stainless on walls behind grills, hoods, dishrooms and other areas. We always used a contact cement, roll on from DAP, or a spray on that comes in a cannester similar to a propane tank with its own sprayer. Never had any problem with heat but we would reinforce our glue bond on the perimeter of the sheets /w anchors. predrilled holes in the metal - tranfer hole location to the wall - drill wall - insert wall anchor - glue & install metal and install s/s screws w/ countersunk shaped s/s washers. Another option is to get some s/s trimming parts (similar to "j" channel for vinyl siding, but much lower profile) these attach to the wall and the metal edges will slide into the groove for a non-puncture application. Always glue
