Question

Buying Cabinets

I generally use Lowes or Home Depot to purchase cabinets when remodelling a Kithchen, Bathroom, home office, etc. However, in this age of the internet and direct from the manufacturer options I was wondering where do people buy their cabinets from and how much better are the prices and service than Lowes and Home Depot who must keep a large margin?

Re: Buying Cabinets

It all depends on budget. Low, low budget you are going to have a really hard time beating the deals at the off the shelf oak and hickory cabinets available at Lowes and HD.

Better budget gives you lots more options, there are practically hundreds of cabinet manufacturers out there, offering everything from builder grade to total high dollar custom. They usually sell their stuff through middlemen such as kitchen designers and cabinet wholesalers. Look in your yellow pages and see what you can find.

With a decent budget I use a cabinet wholesaler, they do everything HD will do as far a design and will allow you to mark up the wholesale price of the cabinets to whatever you want.

Re: Buying Cabinets

Unless you get free shipping it may be a good deal. I looking into getting snap lam online but after freight and picking it up at the shipping dock 60 miles away. No. Going local is better.
