Another Product That Is 'cheating'

If you have never dealt with a Sterling Finesse quick install shower or bath door you are in for a treat.

I bought one for the last project I did by accident, didn't realize it was the quick install model, it just happened to be the right size, color and glass options and was accidently the quick install model.

I had my metal cutting blade for the miter saw with me to cut the top and bottom plates, I had my hammer drill and masonary bits with me to drill for the 3 screws required on each side all ready to go.

I broke open the instructions and looked at the tools needed part of it and I think all that was on there was, tape and a screw driver!

All I can say is the quick install option is now the standard version of any shower or bath door we will be installing. It is idiot proof (employee proof if you know what I mean). #1 Never have to worry about somebody miscutting the top and bottom tracks, #2 Never have to worry about somebody cracking tile from drilling it for screws. #3 They look really nice! Everything comes pre-installed, all the hanging tracks and wheel guides, the only thing you assemble is the towel bars.

Install took 30 minutes and I'm sure I could do any others now that I am familiar with it in 10-15 minutes maximum.

Here is what it looks like in the completed project with the before and after pics:

Expanders on the head and base pieces? Do they sell them at lowes and depot? Are the sister companies (kohler +kinkead) following suit?

Re: Another Product That Is 'cheating'

Hey, a quick note on this Sterling is a bit silly on the way they market this product. I thought it was the Finesse shower door, but it isn't. Finesse is a whole product line, and they make a quick install version of Finesse. So just because it says Finesse it doesn't mean it is the quick install. Their website is a bit confusing on finding out which ones come like this.
