Windows Vista/Word....


The version of Vista my computer came with,Home Premium,only has a trial version of Word.Can I buy just Word and not get the Student/home office upgrade/ Thanks..Jack

You can just buy just Word, but why not get the student pkg. Look on Ebay under $ 80.00

Yes they are, new in sealed pkg. Check the users ratings though.

Do you absolutely need Word? Or are you just looking for a word processor? There are free alternatives that work quite well. Abiword is a free word processor that works just fine under Vista with most of the functionality of MS Word. Openoffice.org is a full office suite that is also completely free.

Yes it will.

I have been using Open Office for a couple of years and I have never had any problems!

Both will open and work with .doc files. Sometimes there are some minor incompatibilities with formatting, but that is rare.
