Re: Website Opinion

good start
ask yourself what the goals of your website are, and then honestly answer if your website is meeting those goals
here are some good questions to ask yourself when designing your contractor website

Re: Website Opinion

Thank you for your input. I'm just getting my business going. I have been a carpenter for 11 years. I got my Contractor's License in June. I value the input of the people that have been doing this a lot longer then me. With work hard to come by, I'm trying everything to get out there to the public.

Re: Website Opinion

I think the blog looks sweet but the rest of the site looks somewhat template-ish.... Another thing Id suggest would be to lose the "@yahoo.com" email tag. Can you get one with an "@jplconstruction.net" tag from your hosting service?

Re: Website Opinion

I have no right to speak from a web design aspect sine i didnt even bother to use a template, but one glaring thing stood out. your e mail address, since you now have your own domain, set up your e-mail accounts there. yahoo should be for personal stuff not business

for example, for customers requesting info you could set up an accouint

info@jplconstruction.net

for customers who want to contact you personaly
(your first name)@jplconstruction.net

for comments about your web site

webmaster@jplconstruction.net

[edit]oops goldenruler already made that point, sorry

Re: Website Opinion

Also, it's best to use the 800 x 600 res since most field and management personnel have switched to devices like the IPhone. Then, the 800 x 600 should be centered for easier viewing instead of left justified...
