Vista Display Settings Reset To Default.

Anyone have this problem?

When the computer comes out of sleep, the display settings reset to their default settings.

It's been happening since my re-imaging.

I got help on another forum:

Quote:
The actual culprit is TMM, Vista's process that looks for multiple monitors and attempts to intelligently modify resolution. If you aren't using multiple monitors, you can disable TMM:

1. right-click on 'computer' and select 'manage'
2. on the left pane, expand 'task scheduler' then ' task scheduler library' then 'Microsoft' then 'Windows' then 'MobilePC'
3. select TMM in the center pane, then on the right pane, choose 'disable'
And then reboot.

All is good again. Just thought I'd post that gere in ase someone else may need it.

I think it has to do with SP1, but I may be wrong on that particular issue.

Re: Vista Display Settings Reset To Default.

Sleeping? Why. Just have the H/D's shut down after "X" and the Screen shut down after "Little 'X' ".

My screen is 3 minutes, my H/D's, all four of them, 1 hour.

But then again, things may be a bit different with a Lap.

My patent answer is........."Welcome to VISTEEER".

POST SCRIPT: How did the re-image go. (besides this obvious thingy!)

Re: Vista Display Settings Reset To Default.

Smooooth as silk. Took about 4 hours total to reload OS, updates, programs and tweak settings.

And according to Mirosuck's (non)help, laptops are better off put to sleep. Idunno...I just have it set to slepp when I close the lid. 8-10 hours and I see no visible battery drain.

I just checked my power settings. Screen off after: 5 min. hdd off after: 10 min. Sleep after 20 min.
