Trouble with this site
I didn't post this in the site help section, because I don't the prolem is the site itself.
Here's the deal:
When I am at home, I can get to this and any other site without any problems. ISP is roadrunner (cable).
At my warehouse, I cannot get to this site, but can get to any other site without problems. I just can't seem toget to this site. ISP is DSL
At a friends house just down the road from me-same DSL ISP I can get to this and any other site without any problems.
My warehouse, where I cannot access this site, I get timeout errors-the server is taking too long to respond...
FF, IE, Opera...all the same results mentioned above.
At first I thought it was IP related, but one place it works, one i does not. Could it be a setting in the router or modem...something to do with LAN settings?

It could be a setting but first I would try clearing all of the cookies and temporary internet files.

I had this problem too. Sometimes your ISP's DNS server refuses to update.
If you have a router with a setting to use any DNS server change it to opendns.com 's server.
Go to opendns.com and get the IP addresses at the bottom right and put that into your router.

Same computer. Laptop-Vista OS.
Did all those other things already.
I'll try the router thing when I get back there.
Thanks for the tips.

It could be the ISP - try pinging www.contractortalk.com - it should come up with an IP address of 208.43.65.216 with a reply or 208.43.98.58
If they are to slow or just don't care - create an lmhosts or hosts file

I clicked that link and it didn't ping anything. It just opened a new tab with CT.
let that be a testament to my computer knowledge.
Anyway, with the ip numbers, I may be able to get there. I had trouble like this before some years ago, and using the numbers instead of the name got me there.
I'll be back later tonight to try it.

Start - Run - type in cmd & hit the enter key
type in ping www.(see above)
You should get a reply & the either of the ip addresses I listed
Yes, you can open IE or Firefox & go to http://ipaddress
Oh & don't try these links, they go nowhere

What do you mean again?
That would imply that I stopped at some point.
