AT&T Cellular Driving Me Nuts!!!

I recently switched from Nextel to AT&T and I'm losing my mind.

The reception and coverage is great, the billing and customer service is

Every time we make a change to our service our bill gets pro-rated and we end up paying 2 to 3 times what we should pay in a month for our service.

Last time we changed the plan to up the minutes they took away our evenings and weekends w/o telling us and we ran up a huge bill thinking we still had them.

Every time I talk to "customer service" we get a runaround and they never rectify any of the charges.

Cingular was great and then they bought ATT. They swore up and down that service wouldn't change, but ATT is like mold---it grows and poisons anything it touches. I think the very name is cursed.

I'm doing everything online now and if there is a problem, I'm ignoring it. The last problem turned out to be my mistake , but I was so hot to blame the evil ATT, I spent two hours harasssing them. That was the end. They win. Evil triumphs over purity.

The service coverage is excellent for me as 50% of my business is waaay county---not to forget I've been through every company and this is the end of the line.

I've had AT&T for years now, and I can't say I've ever had an issue with them about anything. I don't know what sort of plan I have, but for 69 bucks a phone, I can pretty much call where ever, when ever, for how ever long without extra charges. I know this isn't really the case, but it seems to be.

I use them now and I don't think it's just AT&T, it's whoever you get on the other end. They all could use some better service along with coverage. I do understand what you say about them charging though cuz it's happened to us the same way you said above. A calm phone call to them usually resolves any issues.

Switched from Nexthell to Sprint to AT&T. It has been a step up every time.

I am a contractor for AT&T. If only you knew what it took to keep you "in touch", the complaints would be less.

Having seen what goes in to a cell site and how many are necessary, my $93.00 monthly is cheap by any other standard.

As for Customer Service..........Sprint is the worst. AT&T is a dream comparatively!

I have no problems with At & T except for the fact that they don't have any Mil-Spec phonesl.

69 bucks a phone would be a dream to me. I've yet to get under 200 bucks in a month and my highest bill was over 400. This is all for using less than 3000 minutes a month, a lot of that is evenings and weekends.

Someone suggested to me that I see if we can get an assigned sales rep that we always deal with the same person...anyone know if this is possible?

Yes! They have a business development program. (in New York) Discounts for usage and number of lines. I have a single rep I deal with (not that I have ever needed to).

You need to call and ask for the number of your regional Office of the President. I got the # by posting a complaint with the FCC. A week later a person called me from the then Cingular Office of the President. These folks are at a level to make *&^% happen.
Any problems, you just call and magic happens

Re: AT&T Cellular Driving Me Nuts!!!

I switched from tmobile to att in late 04 and thought it was horrendous, only reason I stayed is because I missed the 30 day window to get out of the contract. then they switched from att to cingular and charged a "onetime upgrade" of $30 sometime shortly thereafter. In all honesty, I did'nt have one complaint with cingular, it was perfect, kinda like when verizon was bell atlantic mobile or "bam". Then sometime approximately this time last year it went back to being att, and litterally began to suck again overnight. I have been thouroughly frustrated with it this past year, bad signal, constantly dropping calls, not ringing on my end etc etc, so I went back to tmobile, I can't say I'm impressed at all so far. I'm really starting to think that the problems are not so much with the networks, but with the phones, I mean the phones just keep getting worse and worse. I remember having phones 10 years ago that blew the doors off of anything I've used recently in terms of making and receiving and staying connected in calls

I have had a lot of No-Ring problems as well. I think it is an overload on the system. We have one of the oldest in the World.
