Software Programs concrete foundation inds. / family business!!

So I might be looking at two different types of software programs here, both for the concrete construction industry.

1. Can anyone recommend a program for doing estimating specifically for the concrete industry (I haven't checked out all the posts out there yet!)

2. I'm looking for software that can do takeoff on your materials, specifically your forms (# of full forms, keys, form ties etc.). Someone mentioned that CAD can do this, I don't have it, or have much experience with it for that matter.

Another issue, we have started to recieve a ot more plans online/on cd what is the best way to work with these (large monitor/ and what program??)

We are a family business, my father's been doing the estimating, he has his own system and its in his head and I'm trying to get it on the computer - same old story, right. They must have a forum on here for the family run construction business, right!

Thanks for your help!
