Roofer That Takes Video Of Their Estimate

This guy takes video of his roofing estimates and sends it to his customer:

homerestorationsmd dot com

(PS. careful walking on the roof with a video camera). Everything is online - he takes his laptop on the roof.

Pretty good customer-focused site too.

Like it or not, to the general public contractors have a credibility problem. A homeowner may never have had a bad experience with a contractor but if you have ever heard an over-embellished anecdote of a homeowner-contractor relationship gone bad it is easy to form a stereotype.

This guy is demonstrating his expertise using video and really reinforcing his credibility.

He forgot to mention.......WHAT DID THEY PAY!! LOL

You get what you pay for. I bet the guy has no hands on experience to "fix him up"

I will check out his video later, from my faster computer that doesn't have to keep on buffering.

Is this the same guy that was discussed on here before?

Re: Roofer That Takes Video Of Their Estimate

Especially for a new customer. I take My camera each day. I remember taking pix of missing roof shingles and flashing problems. Then showing an 80 year old Gal, She needed some repairs, not a new roof. Also cameras are used daily to show problems with sewer lines. After an Earth Quake retro in a crawl space,I give the customer the photos to keep. It lets them sleep better, and makes for repeat Business.

Re: Roofer That Takes Video Of Their Estimate

We have been using scope of work videos lately as well but none of our projects look like that! We have found that not only are they great to keep clients informed but also to make writing the proposals easier as well. Instead of taking "chicken scratch" notes we have a verbal and visual record of what work is requested, colors, sizes, materials etc...

This client owns quite a few franchise restaurants that we service and the videos keep all 3 of the decision makers in the loop and help justify our costs. A video is worth a thousand words. The video links are not attached here because of privacy of course.

Quote:
Hi ------,

Attached are the proposals for --------- City and -----------. Below are the links for the Scope of Work Videos. It really helps to watch the video as you look over the proposal so that you can pause / rewind as needed and really get a grasp of what we are talking about in the written scope of work.

Scope of Work Video -------- City
Scope of Work Video -------- Interior
Scope of Work Video -------- Exterior

The videos will keep getting better and better. So far they have increased our speed and accuracy on writing estimates tremendously. Our clients really like putting their eyes on the problems and our service techs do as well. Please let me know if you see anything (other than video image quality) that we can improve on.

Thanks and have a great day,
