Ring Central

Anyone using this service or something similar? We are rarely in our office during business hours. Wondered if this would work better than just an answering machine. I don't think it will save us any money, but it looks like it would add a bunch of features we don't have. Just kicking it around.

Re: Ring Central

We've used Ring Central in the past and never had any issues with them, did everything we needed. It's definitely better than just an answering machine but it really depends on what features you're looking for. Here are some other similar services:
www.grasshopper.com
www.evoice.com

We actually haven't had a need for any of those features recently so we've just been using Google voice. However, I have heard some very good reviews for Grasshopper, I would check them out. I do not actually have any experience with them but if we do end up using an answering service again, we'll probably give them a shot.

So I checked out a couple of these and how exactly do they work. I looked on their sites but am a little confused. Do they take a call for you, or just automate the answering machine on your phone to include extensions, and then email you the message as well?

you take your own call. you can have them set it up anyway you want it. either automate answering and include extension or just dial straight to your office/cell phone. its very customizable and much cheaper than at&t and very reliable.
