QuickBooks 2004 and Internet Explorer 7

Just an FYI - - -

If you are using QuickBooks 2004 and earlier editions, DO NOT upgrade to Internet Expolrer 7 - Depending on your system, it could cause serious issues with QuickBooks.

If you are using QuickBooks 2005 or 2006, there are patches available from Intuit to allow you to use IE7

QuickBooks 2007 is supposed to be fine with IE7

From what I have been reading and hearing, some 2004 and older users may experiance no problems, most others will. For my own experience, since I upgraded to IE7 I can't open QuickBooks at all, even after uninstalling IE7 and reverting to IE6 as Intuit tech department advised. I am looking for a solution, might try reloading QuickBooks tonight.

Also, my tech friend advised that Microsoft will make IE7 part of an automatic update soon, so if you have your PC set up for automatic updates the feature must be disabled to avoid future problems with Older QuickBooks.

Intuit will not be offering any patches for 2004 and older products, forcing either an upgrade of their products at full price (they don't offer upgrade pricing anymore - so much for loyalty) or you must stay with IE6 to use the old program.
