Outlook Calendar Question

Recurring appointments.

I know how to make a recurring appointment. But here is the problem.

I create an appointment on the 1st to run every ten days, so it schedules 1st, 10th, 20st, 30th, 10th, 20th, etc...

Say i need to change the appointment on the 21st to the 25th and have the pattern shift as well so the new sched would look like 1st, 10th, 25th, 5th, 15th, 25th...

I can't seem to do that. I can change the 21st only, or I have to set the starting date for the whole series to the 25th, which wipes out the past history that I want to keep.

I was using palm os, and that was never a problem. I could change the whole series, the current event or the current and future events.

Is this possible in outlook? Or do I have to end the series at the last date and start a whole new series form th new date forward?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Outlook Calendar Question

Use crtl-drag (point to the appointment in your calander, push and hold crtl and then click on it and drag (you should get a little plus sign by the mouse cursor)) to copy your appointment to the new day.

Now, edit the new appointment, all occurrences. You'll notice you have a new start date. The old one will still show up, so you need to go back and put an ending date on it.

This should keep all the old junk and let you deal with the new stuff separately.

Re: Outlook Calendar Question

Tried that.

Dragged to the new day. It asked me if I want to chang only this occurrence or change the series.

Either option I choose, when I open it, it shows the original start date, not a new start date. If I change that, I lose the past events.

Re: Outlook Calendar Question

This was in outlook 2007 and I used the original appointment to copy from.

Glad you found a solution.

Re: Outlook Calendar Question

I'm running '03.

The calendar is an important issue to me. especially when it comes to scheduling.

Anyway....google is out now too. I finally found a program. Agendus by Iambic. They give a 7 or 15 day free trial of the full program-NO limitations in the trial version. I was sold after playing with it for 30 minutes. And a screaming deal at 20 bucks.

Anyway...I just dumped Verizon last week and went AT&T and thought I'd get a new phone in the process. I ditched my Treo 700p (headed for ebay real soon) for a Windows Mobile 6 smart phone.

I love the Palm calendar, and this new Agendus does all it did and more.

I'm trying reaaaalllllll hard not to question my decision fro jumping Palm's for Winblows. but hey...I'm a landscaper, so if the grass isn't greeneron the other side, I'l just uh...."fertilize" it and take advantage of AT&T's 30 day return policy and go back to palm.

I've always felt the best tool for the job is the one you get good results from.

Sounds like you have a good Plan A and a sound Plan B.
