Re: Ok, Since It's Website Day....
Looks good and it's easy to navigate! Great first step.
I would work on making the header a bit more crisp. Also, I know it's not the simpliest thing to code but a request an estimate form or contact form might be good. If someone finds you off hours they may not call but they may use a form. Just a thought. Overall great start!

Re: Ok, Since It's Website Day....
Thanks Nathan. The wife just told me she is working on getting the resolution up on the header, The request form is on the maintenance page I believe, we have had a few emails from it already. Do you think we should put the About Air Pro page as the home page or leave it as is?
Thanks again! Last edited by AirPro; 12-13-2006 at 01:05 AM. |

Re: Ok, Since It's Website Day....
I think some type of photo of either you or a clean job would be nice to draw people in. So, maybe the about us page would be good although I would rather see a photo of something professional rather than personal.
I now see your contact form. It's too far down on the maintenance page and people are likely to miss it (I did). I'd create a new page called "Contact Us" that has your phone number, email, and contact form on it. But then again what do I know. Either way it looks good.

Re: Ok, Since It's Website Day....
looks nice
i have read in many computer forums that counters are not a good idea. i used to have one and seeing yours reminded me to get rid of mine. the theory is that the number is never "right" ... it's too high or too low or doesn't change fast enough or something else. just that it is bad marketing [cool technology, though] |

Re: Ok, Since It's Website Day....
I second the counter removal and the banner needs some work, also change the resolution on your graphics the banner is currently 150 dpi, all you need is 72 dpi. Check all your text for errors, (fi berglass ) on first page. List some of your services on the first page and or banner ie., commercial, industrial and or residential, humidifiers, de-humidifiers, electronic filters, new installs, repairs etc. Make text the same format (size, type & color) on the different pages. If you do both commercial and residential I'd make two sections (pages). Better contact page. Put all the self-help/diy info on it's own page. Here's a quick banner (72 dpi) to give you some ideas and illustrate sizing/scaling (no comments on the banner it's what I had on the screen):

Re: Ok, Since It's Website Day....
I was going to say a sharper looking header, and show you a quick example, but I see mickeycos now it I like it better than mine. Didn't spend 15 minutes on nothing though... So here you go.

Re: Ok, Since It's Website Day....
Yup, 86 the counter and get a contact page. Either of those two headers mickeyco and GLK so graciously made look very nice. I would also get some pics on the front page....people like eye candy.
The last thing I would say that has made a difference on my site is change the text on the front page from technical to something that touches on the benefits the customer will get by using your service. That's one thing I've been learning the hard way. What sells is what matters to the customer. List benefits amongst that technical jargon. I know some of it is important for SEO, but make sure you talk about things that are important to the customer i.e. free time, no hassle, professional knowledge, etc. Say things like, with Air Pro, when it gets cold out side, you can rest assured your heating system will kick on and warm your home efficiently, every time. I'm going into left field, but you get the idea.
