Ok, Me Too!

Here is our new (and first) website. Hope you like it. Footbridge Media did it. It's been up for one week today and tonight I went on my first service call generated by the site. It paid for the site for the month. I'm pretty stoked right now. If you love it let us know. If you hate it let us know.

Re: Ok, Me Too!

Congratulations on the new website...and the business it's starting to generate.

I like that you've got the "Where you're at" hot links to the right. When I'm in tankless water heaters, I can see the path that leads back to the home page.

Graphics are clean, background is nice, layout is similar from page to page. It's easy to navigate through your site.

I like the idea of a Safety Seal of Approval. You explain what it is and why it makes a difference.

TYPOS

On your home page, you say "Call now for immediate service" Do you really mean "immediate?" Do you answer calls 24/7 and do you have people ready to go out on a call immediately after the call is taken?
I'm not getting on your case, merely clarifying your opening statement.

On this page, http://www.themastersplumbingco.com/...ing/index.html
Under the map, change you to your in this line:
If you are looking for a Birmingham plumber for you remodeling project, please call us today at 205-410-0652 or complete our service request form.

On this page,
http://www.themastersplumbingco.com/...tor/index.html
change he to they in this line. You're using a pronoun to reference drain cleaning contractors :
First, our professional Birmingham drain cleaning contractors will open the line and review the problem at hand. Then he will use our company process to thoroughly clean any clogs that are there.

On this page, http://www.themastersplumbingco.com/safety_plumber.html
change site to sight in this line:
In another instance, a service technician in the Minneapolis area was convicted on several counts for stealing from customers’ homes. Not the type of guy you want to let out of your site in your house.

Again, congrats!

Thanks Mac. I really appreciate the input. We are in the process of editing the site and have in fact already sent in several pages of revisions of the content (everything from simple typos to paragraphs that are simply contrary to the way we do business). I have to say that Aaron at Footbridge seems to be very prompt with our requests. He will usually have the changes made within a couple of hours it seems like and by the end of the day at the latest. He also sends e-mail notification as soon as the changes are made. We have a lot more revisions to the content to make but so far are pleased that when we request changes they are executed quickly. When we signed up with Footbridge we just gave them some basic info and turned them loose, this is because we are not in the web building business and did not want to tackle the learning curve necessary to build and maintain a great site. It is probably still too early to say because so much of whether a site is successful or not has to do with whether or not people are led to it. We ordered the site for one reason, to generate requests for service. We like the look of the site, we like the responsiveness of Footbridge Media, and we really liked getting that first service request from the site, but it will probably still be a while before we can declare the site successful.

P.S. The Technician Seal of Safety was one of the few pages that we did request from the outset. We need to get Aaron to make it an actual link as they (TSS) have their own website that is even more in depth. On the other hand I like having the bulk of the info on our site rather than sending people somewhere else (who knows if they come back once they leave our site)

Check in on us from time to time to see how things are being refined!

It looks great, it's easy to navigate. Pay attention and keep it up-to-date. As time passes, web sites get stale, but an occassional change keeps it fresh. The search engines like occassional changes too, and will reward you with higher placement in the search engines.

Have you submitted to google/yahoo/msn yet?
