Nigerian Scammers
I got an email from a Nigerian scammer addressed to my forum user name K2eoj. I was using different user names on different forums but decided to consolidate to one name recently. I'm a little puzzeled how they might connect this user name to my email address? Does anyone think I should be concerned??? I've had plenty of contacts from these scammers through classifieds etc. but this is new to me.
As always , Thanks for any replies and the great advice. K2

Last year, according to the FBI, Nigerian scammers bilked the greedy morons in the USA out of 270 million dollars......nice little closet industry, considering the Nigerian Government supports them....kinda like the Columbians smile at the money we spend on the drug wars....
Bottom line anyone should know, there ain't no free lunch....but I am still amazed.

I sell laptops on ebay. The last time one of Nigerian scammers tried to pose as a potential buyer I asked him what the hell he was going to do for power......plug it into a frickin rubber tree?

Some forums allow you to email another member. My guess is they used that feature. I wouldn't worry about it if it were me. Maybe you even put your website or your email address in a post somewhere along the line.

Take a peek at www.419eater.com
You will gain a lot of insight into how they work these scams. These folks work hard at wasting the scammers time so they aren't taking advantage of other people. We had a retired couple in our church last year lose $k to a scammer.I tried to warn them, but some people have to much trust or are just looking to make an easy buck.
