New Browser: Google Chrome

Google launched a new browser today called Google Chrome. You can download it here: http://www.google.com/chrome

It doesn't have plugins and I can't use the Google Toolbar with it (which is odd) so Firefox 3 is still king for me. The one thing I will say is this, this thing is SERIOUSLY FAST.

I thought Firefox 3 was fast but this thing blows the doors off of it. Give it a try and see how fast our server really is

I will definitely check it out Nathan. But that is really weird that google tool bar won't work. I'll see if it's the same on my computer.

Wait for the real comparison, once tons of open source plug-ins are created and installed on it.

There already are 3 Themes that have been built for Chrome.

For some instant feedback on the beta users, try this site:

Re: New Browser: Google Chrome

Google Chrome is coming out just when IE8 is hitting the market while FireFox 3.0 is also available. I would suggest you simply trying each one out, if you have the time, and deciding what is best for you depending on your style and types of applications you use. We all know the majority of contractors are just getting into the Internet so hopefully this one topic will not be a distraction for someone to just join the Net.
Here is a good story on why IE8 beats Chrome from the Associated Press http://ap.google.com/article/ALeqM5huKY3sEt1_5z3bgHs4Dm_gqzyVTQD92V0RV01 The biggest thing I like from what the story is about is IE8 uses the least CPU once its is running.
I will probably eventually play with Chrome so I can know a little about it but am unsure if I will gain anything special to change my day.

Oh, man, it's only the coolest thing in the world (that might be a stretch)!

Mesh is the next generation file sharing and synchronization method that microsoft just released. You have up to 5 GB of space online and you can synchronize folders between your desktop, laptop, handheld, etc. You can also set permissions on those folders so your friends can access them with (read, read/write, full control). Also, you can remote desktop into any computer you have in your mesh from any computer with access to the internet!!! How cool is that!

Anyway, it's FREE, which is the best part of all.

So now I guess that Google, Microsoft, The US Government have direct and UNLIMITED access to YOUR "stuff". (no snoop permission necessary once it is on THEIR server).

Also a great way for Profiling, Advertising and Regional Trend Demographic building.

Not something that I will ever be utilizing. EVER! Sorry! Nope! Not me!

Hey it's free, what do you expect? Sometimes you have to weigh the convenience against the drawbacks. I didn't recommend putting your social security number or mother's maiden name out there.....I was just throwing it out there as a very useful (FREE) tool that might make some of our lives a little easier.

Nathan is Absolutely Right, Again !!!

Google Chrome is a Seriously Fast Browser !!! I have been trying it out for the last couple days and even with a few hiccups in it and all it is Nice To Have on The Side.

I use Firefox, which is Awesome... and Safari along with IE and Now Chrome !!!
Sounds extreme and probably is, but when I need to open more pages than 2 or 3 at a time it just makes it easier to work in another Browser. Helps me keep things in order and not so easy to close pages I am working off of by mistake.
