Doh! Looks just like my site....ok, time to change it. However, that is a very popular site isn't it? Pulls a lot of leads? Hmm...gonna have to change the way mine looks a little though.

Re: My New Site Is Up And Running!

i used to do web design and those companies basically all start with a template and load in your specific graphics, links and text. could be made in less than an hour - but it doesnt mean its no good - there are thousands of sites that have the same template but dont suffer any drawbacks for it.
in my experience people like to see that you are willing to pay someone to do the all-be-it standard professional job and have an easy to navigate, clean site. so i wouldnt worry about changing anything drastically other than some graphics (most importantly - get rid of stock graphics and use some local/personal digital images)

Re: My New Site Is Up And Running!

AAPaint - you may want to pm I don't have 20 post or I would do so. There is some serious legal issues that can result from this site. If they "ripped" the other site YOU can be sued. I got some questions...

Did you have a contract?
Do you know an internet lawyer?
Do you documented proof of when your site went live?

A great source for issue regarding your web site is www.ultrashock.com . This is were big boys go and talk. The reason web design is having trouble is that anyone with a computer can say he is a designer.

I was thinking about making a "quiz" that you guys can give to designers when you want to see if they are legit. If that would help I would be glad to do so.

Not sure what you mean by "shorten your glow", unless you're referring to the dark edges. I'll talk to my graphics person.

The Villages of Creekside image is only a .gif if you're using Internet Exploder. In any competent browser, it's a .png. I'll look into changing it to an absolutely positioned .jpg.

Are you saying the site doesn't exist in browsers not displaying images or that can't process css?

Thanks for your time.

Re: My New Site Is Up And Running!

what I am saying there is some people with images turned off and disabilities. Basically, what I am saying is that to make the site really good, when the css is turned off, the site should read like the newspaper.

Here is an example...
site with css turned on... http://csszengarden.com/?cssfile=/188/188.css&page=0

site with css turned off... http://csszengarden.com/zengarden-sample.html

And......the new, new site is up and running. Watching traffic, I'm starting to do real well in the search engines, and I'm getting excited.

HUMBLE!!!!!!!!!!!! What's up man! Where you been hiding? I've been wondering what happened to you....send me a pm when you get time.
Thanks for the compliments on the site...it's going good. Traffic is still picking up, leads are beginning to POUR in...I'm very happy with FootbridgeMedia. I have about a 3 week backlog of work at the moment, with another expected 3 weeks on top of that from other clients most of which has come from the website and even the doorhangers they did for me. Footbridge is awesome....they're hookin me up with new biz card, yard signs, and t-shirt designs. I have my own marketing consultant that handles just about anything I need for me......I love it!

It sure is. We have had a few leads from the site, some turned into jobs some didn't. Mostly we have been getting good stuff from the mailings and our word of mouth is finally bringing in some good work. All in all I am going to be working hard for the next month or more then those jobs will lead to others... you know the drill.

I'm busy and I'm happy

Re: My New Site Is Up And Running!

Site looks great, the the Logo/Title needs a little work, Your name should be on the top and very visible. I put together an example that might give you some ideas. it's at:
hxxp://users.foxvalley.net/~jennifkar/paint/paint.htm
change the xx in hxxp to tt

If you like it save the image or do a screen capture, I will take it down soon, as I am running out of server space.

Re: My New Site Is Up And Running!

Wow, thanks. I'm actually having the header re-done now...it's funny that you mentioned it now, just a day or two after I asked to have that re-done. I will submit this to my web designer and see what they can do. I still would like to have my round logo on there somewhere though. It's on everything else.
