Lookin' For A Copy Of Windows XP

Anyone have a legal copy of windows xp they no longer need? I have an older computer that is currently running Win98 and I'd like to pick up a used copy of xp at a decent price to upgrade

If you can't find anyone with an old copy of XP... I'd recommend buying Windows XP Home OEM.

Newegg.com (a very reputable online store) sells it for $89.99.

Good Luck!

Oh, and OEM just means the disk was meant to be sold with a new computer. However, many retailers sell the OEM version by itself. You can also pick up the OEM version on Ebay if you like. But if its about the same price... I'd go with Newegg.

Thanks Derrick I will probably go through Newegg. I am a bit leery of buying software on ebay, i'm not interested in buying software that may have been pirated or that someone still has installed on their system. I want to make sure I'm "legal".

You're welcome! And, I couldn't agree with you more. I recently bought myself Vista Business OEM for home and thought about buying it off Ebay. However, Newegg's prices were exactly the same (if not a few $$$ less) and I felt a lot better about buying off Newegg. Good Luck!

I'd watch out with upgrading to XP- if your computer was built back in the days of win98, it probably would run very slow on xp, and there is a good chance that many of the components won't have drivers for xp
If I were you, I'd go for Win 2000- much more stable than 98, but not as resource hungry as xp, and you can likely get all the drivers that you need.
