Jump Drive Question

I have been using a 256 MB Lexar jump drive for some time to keep copies of important data. Yesterday, I purchased the 1G variety so I could save all my customer and other important info in a seperate and portable place. I used Windows backup to save all I wanted to save to the jump drive with plenty of room to spare.
When I look at the contents of the drive, it shows me the backup icon but no files (I know they are present, you have to access the backup program to retrieve them)
I guess the bottom line to my question is...is it better to backup the files or save them directly on the jump drive as individual files?

Re: Jump Drive Question

I prefer them to just be saved in separte files on the jump drive. Sort them all with lots of directories so you can find them fast.

Re: Jump Drive Question

Robie, either backing up on a cd or flash drive will be as good as the organization of the files and the folders they are in. I am horrible with labeling cd's so I a disorganized pile of cd's with magic marker for backup. recently I took the 40g 2.5" hard drive from my busted laptop and put it in a adapter enclosure now I have a 40g external backup, from this I can keep all my desktop file folder Icons stored and just transfer from that from one comp to another, works out great. transfers faster than a flash media.
