Re: IPhone Or Blackberry?

First I had blackberry phones for several yrs, then I got an Iphone. If you r in the field then Iphone sucks (I think). How many times have you had **** on your hands and answered a touch screen phone? or use your phone in the freezing cold?

The otter case for the Iphone is great for protecting it and is warrantied with full replacement if it gets damaged (case not the phone). but how the otter case clips doesn't work so good for in the field use. Mine gets knocked of the holder all day long. I can't tell you how many times someone has came to me and asked is that your phone laying on the ground?

With my blackberry I used to back up accounting software to the SD card, was nice and easy and always with me just in case. with the Iphone I have yet to find an app that works to do this, you can only use Itunes and it doesn't work the same. I can connect to my computer wirelessly and use my home wireless network but I cant save a QB backup to my memory.

The blackberry is pushed content email, if you get an email you get it right away on the blackberry, the Iphone you have to check your email if I get an email I won't no until I check it.

I love the Iphone for how smooth it works flawlessly. but the blackberry is a more rugged business phone (I think) Blackberry doesn't have the locked, can only use Itunes, bull****.

and most importantly, apple offers no insurance on the phone, if it gets lost or stolen. You will have to buy a new $600 phone. with blackberry you pay your $50 to $100 deductible and you are back.

I love my Iphone but I miss the blackberry email, SD cards, but blackberry seamed to lock up A LOT and just freeze

6 in one, half dozen in the other.

I don't however miss sprint even one second. the signal wouldn't work inside my house. So every time my phone rang and I was in the office, I was standing outside in the winter talking to customers (if the phone even rang) AT&T seams to have a much better network in my area

Re: IPhone Or Blackberry?

If it pops out, I would wear it facing in or put a fat rubber band around it. If you have the 3GS then all your phone commands are voice-activated. And the screen is not touch-heat sensitive. It senses the electrical charge from your finger...cold or hot fingers makes no difference unless your body changes its charge in different temps.

I am glad to hear the case warranty...I busted the bottom part, taking the phone out of the clip part too aggressively.

My phone never falls out of my otter box clip. You are supposed to read the directions, it shows you to put the phone in the clip with the screen facing in.

Re: IPhone Or Blackberry?

i had nextel for what seemed like ever. since back when they were cool.
the day we got rid of that was a great day. i threw my old phone against a tree then ran it over several time.
i got a blackberry (at&t) and loved it. after 2 years i realized all the stuff it didnt do, then used sister in laws iphone over christmas. came home and went right to the att store and bought one. best phone yet. the fact i can view office docs, pdfs, ect and zoom in enough to read them was reason enough. the big screen didnt hurt.
the BB is a good phone, but the track ball was kind of a pita. always getting dirt in the track ball socket, and in the keys was annoying. i do miss the flash though. i used to use it as a flashlight. i do not miss the BB locking up every now and then. took for ever if you had to pull the battery for it to come back up.
i dont think either phone is bad, and both do a fine job for what i do. i did save money by getting the iphone, i was able to leave my laptop at home and got rid of my wireless card.

Heath, is that how you get an iPhone to multitask?

Just curious. We don't use smart phones so I'm a little ignorant of the technology.

As a landscaper, dirty sites is all I ever get to work on. I have that case ind it's awesome. I've been sprinklered on, rained on, dragged through the brush and jungles, and used it with wet muddy gloves. My phone is fine. It will not take a dunking though.

Droid. Hands down.

I've had blackberry and messed around with some iphones. Google's android operating system is amazing. The Motorola Droid is the best android phone.

I'll never buy a phone other than a blackberry; When I accidentally ran my blackberry over with a fully loaded 5 ton in December, after peeling it out of the trucks tire tracks it worked fine. Beat that Steve Jobs.

Re: IPhone Or Blackberry?

Hi,

I had a nokia e71. Fell from a cherry picker and smashed into a million peices. I brought a old blackberry 8707 off amazon for £40 as emails are important. The got a otterbox defender case for it. It is the best phone I have ever had. Even better than my nokia 6310i.

Other trades have iphones on site and I have used my mates, but for business I dont rate it.

Re: IPhone Or Blackberry?

There's loads of Android phones and tablets on the horizon. Android is gaining some serious following so early in it's life. Wont be long before it's taking over RIM which the Iphone is still trying to do but failing.

I wouldn't say it's failing - achieving over 25% of the market 2 1/2 years, compared to RIM's 43% in a decade and a half, that's definitely not failing. Between Apple and Android, RIM is seriously going to be in trouble if they don't make some major changes to their OS.

Iphone sales have hit a brick wall. Everyone who wants one already has one. They didnt increase their share of tha market even 1% last year. I think Android increase by almost 5% in just a year. If they carry on at that rate which im sure they will mainly because many RIM user will like Android over iphone and then some of that RIm share will fall to Android.

it's only going to be downhill in market-share for RIM, if they don't update their software; they'll be left to a few groups (some corporate and government sectors). However, if Android incorporates the encryption and other security features, only found on the BB, RIM is toast.

Google was founded on software innovation, they have very smart/talented developers, and they have the resources and money to put Android into the lead (the only thing that will keep the iPhone from being eliminated is the existing integration with the iTunes store). Trust me though, Google can do it, and RIM is definitely in their cross-hairs.

EDIT: oh yeah, and they also have the appetite to do it, they're expanding into just about everything, and phones are their latest hobby.

iPhone all the way. Blackberry will eventually catch up, but for the time being they are still behind. Android is getting there, it's still not as slick or intuitive.

iPhone Touchscreen Accuracy Bests the Competition According to Robot-Driven Analysis

http://lifehacker.com/5501814/iphone...riven-analysis

When we highlighted tests comparing the accuracy of touchscreens on popular smartphones (like iPhone, Droid, and Nexus One), many critics rightfully pointed out the potential for human error in the original human-driven DIY tests. What happens when a robot performs the test?

As you can see in the video above and comparison image below, turns out there's not much difference; the iPhone hardware still comes out on top:

The good news for HTC Android users: The Droid Eris and Nexus One both performed pretty well, even though the iPhone's performance still handily outperforms the competition. As the testers point out, touchscreen performance is just one small part of the hardware and software stack that make up smartphones, so you wouldn't want to make your purchasing decisions based solely on these results. That said, little is more annoying than poking away at a touchscreen that's not responding the way you'd want, so it's good information to know.

Check the full post for a closer examination of the results, more information on the testing procedures (they address whether the drawing app could make a difference), and more.

Re: IPhone Or Blackberry?

Wow that's a pretty cool representation. Actually we were working with a Windows Mobile developer (HTC etc) and he said that he's always surprised at how much better the touch screen is on the iPhone.
