I considered doing something like that too. I've tried the ZCalc and INCHcalc apps on the iPhone, but I found too many limitations on both of them. They don't compare with the construction master calculator. Blackberry offers a feet and inch calculator app. Yet I'm leary of the Blackberry apps, they make you use Paypal which I don't like. I guess that's another disadvantage of the Blackberry, they're too lazy to accept credit cards. The iPhone app store is 100 times easier to use.

Hmm, looks nice, it's a ten dollar app, some people said in the reviews it's a little difficult entering fractions, but the stair set up looks really nice.

Re: IPhone Or Blackberry?

I would never use anything except an iPhone. If you get the 3G, and jailbreak it, and the only difference between the 3G and 3Gs would be hardware. There is simply endless possibilities with the iPhone I could write a book about it .

I've been a Construction Master Pro user for years and was really happy to have BuildCalc.

Re: IPhone Or Blackberry?

I have been using a BB for almost 10 years and it has been fantastic. Yes there were some issues with their network every now and then but frankly it never caused an issue for me. I get phone messages there when someone calls on my office line. I can see the number of the person calling and notifies me to check vmail. It is great !!

I'd been using a BB for a couple of years and when I switched to an iPhone I couldn't believe the difference. Major upgrade.

Yes my son has an iPhone and its great. I don;t think you can go wrong with either one just be sure that the email features meet your needs. The great thing about the iPhone is of course the "there is an app for that" community of developers.

not really, the network sucks lately, and 3G coverage is spotty.

I recently gave my iPhone the axe, and just bought an iPod Touch. I have unlimited everything (for a much lower cost) with my blackberry under Sprint, and I just got tired of the crappy service. So now I don't have to carry two devices, and aren't paying 100/month for another phone.

The browser is definitely superior on the iPhone though, but again - I got the iPod now. Most of the apps I use have the same functionality, just some differences here and there.

wait.. so you have to get the measurements yourself first? what's the point? it's just a picture library that let's you keep additional notes then. (the dimensions)

both of those (esp the last) might be fine for a home user doing casual things, but certainly not for professional use, requiring real/exact numbers.

Re: IPhone Or Blackberry?

Once Iphone can match the sales numbers of Blackberrys then they have done well. They are still a long way of but you have to remember that they target different people. My bro-in-laws wife is an account excecutive for a US cell carrier. The number 1 phone still purchased for buisness use is the blackberry by far. But Android is now being pushed in place of blackberry. The Android phones are already eating away at Iphones market share and they have only just launced. If i had to pick between 2 phones for buisness it would be either the a HTC Android or a Blackberry.

There is a free program called youmail that works well (verry similar to visual voicemail, just go to www.youmail.com

If you have ATT call up customer service and tell them you want Visual Voicemail activated. They will do it and its free. The program should already be on your phone.

Blackberries are definitely tougher machines. Iphones, while having great apps, tend to be a little more fragile.
