I tried this program and increased my average speed by 50%---no lie.

The hardest thing to do was to click File>Open Custom File Settings and then choose the correct option. It comes with non-geek instructions.

My last test was 5762 kbs down and 1786 kbs up from Washington State to Maine. That is actually doubling my speed!
