Hum By Verizon
Is this worth having? I'm not sure what all it does. There's not a lot of info out there (youtube, etc.).

Re: Hum By Verizon
Near as I can tell, the only really noteworthy thing you get is an OBD code reader.
I have one that works just fine--$20 from Amazon. Advertisement |

Re: Hum By Verizon
I looked at it and thought the price was quite high for the simple service.

Paying for it outright would be way too expensive. I went into Verizon a week or so ago switched some plan options up and moved away from the Iphone. They ended up throwing in a Bose bluetooth speaker and my bill came up 10$ cheaper a month if I added the Hum service to my "bundle". I'm sure I'm paying for it somewhere I just know I'm paying less than I was before. It seems semi useful business wise. I contract work from a company that has 3 locations near me. If I do an estimate or job outside of 20 miles from a location I'm able to charge mileage. Hum allows you to set up boundaries from any GPS location, so I set mine up to let me know if I drive outside their radius. The OBD reader seems to work havent really been able to get any use out of it. The whole thing seems taylor made for a parent who doesn't trust their child. Lots of safety features and road side service included (most of which I already have through my auto insurance). Kinda cool the jury is still out for me honestly, probably wouldnt have it had it not been basically free.
