Updating that is. Google toolbar 4 works great. But when it updates itself I get a good size delay whenever I start up IE (6) Please don't tell me to switch to Mozilla or FireFox.

Is there a way to prevent it from updating itself?

Yup, switch to Chrome or Safari.

Its IE... Microsoft Internet Explorer.... Microsoft...

What do you own that was coded by Microsoft that does ANYTHING quickly? Or even asks you first?

Since you don't want to hear the answer [Mozilla]...toss the thing out the window and get yourself a high quality abacus

yeah tool bars suck. After the other thread, I went through to see what I could erase from my system file for OS. I was able to get rid of ABOUT 1 gig.. BUT that leaves me with ~27gigs of OS

.figured it out myself.

run SERVICES.MSC

The disable the google toolbar updaters, I had 2 (properties, change it in the 'startup type' box)

Go to the C:\Windows\Prefetch directory and erase GT****.pf files, all of them.

Should keep it at bay for a while. We'll see.
