Have You Heard Of Us?

Just wondering how many people on here have heard of RenoWorks Pro software? We have been told before by our users that they don't like to share their sales tools with the competition.

Re: Have You Heard Of Us?

I was at a marketing seminar nearly 2 years ago, which a roofing contractor from another state also attended.

During a break, he got his laptop and showed me how simple it was and also how realistic the simulated end resultant photo on his screen looked.

The primary reasoning for me not investing in the software ackage, is that my primary shingle manufacturers product line is not included in the data base as of yet, but that is being addressed by your staff and several contractors contacting the marketing manager at Tamko to see if they would like their product to still be featured in our in home presentations.

I can say, from the example I have seen via the demonstration from the other roofing contractor, that the imported image projecting what the end of job final appearance should look like, was absolutely incredible.

I suggest you list the products currently listed in your data base, for other contractors to see if they could use this extremely accurate visual sales tool.

If a picture is worth a thousand words, then a picture of the end result of the job, while you are presenting your dedication to a complete understanding and conceptualization of the project before you even begin, would be priceless.

Re: Have You Heard Of Us?

Can you show Alcoa and Certainteed vinyl siding products on a home? How does the software work? Is it simple enough to plug stuff into it as you are sitting with the customer to easily see how different products would look? How realistic are the images? Could you provide some screen shots?

Re: Have You Heard Of Us?

Patrick,

That is a great suggestion.

Why don't you do a simple tutorial here, taking one of Patricks estimate projects or someone elses, and run through the learning curve via screen shots and a written instruction tutorial to actually show up on this forum, so that all of the contractors can see the ease of its use.

They do have an online tutorial on their web site, but I think the contractors on this forum would prefer a walk through, hands on tutorial, with questions being asked and answered between each step of the way.

Also, from my one time of seeing the other roofer do it, he was able to display an after effect view of a home he had just estimated. He showed several colr choices on the entire home, one by one, and then he split the home in half, with 2 seperate colors, side by side, to show a comparison between the final 2 selections.

The screen view did look authentic and not cheesy at all. It looked like an actual photo of the actual product, not some cartoonish simulation.

Re: Have You Heard Of Us?

Great suggestion Ed, I would love to take a project through step by step. Patrick, if you or someone else wants to post a picture (preferably taken straight on) of a customers home or even your own home, I can provide screen shots, one step at a time.

Normally we suggest taking a picture of a customers home and preparing the project before the visit (you have to mask off the area that you would like to put product on and designate what type of product would go there i.e. siding/roofing etc.).

You could also go around a neighborhood, take pictures of homes that need to be remodeled, do the project and then leave behind a picture of what you could do to their house. That has proven to be a very successful way to stand out and get new business.

Then, once you are in front of the client it is very easy to point and click and change out the different product types and colors providing them a photo-realistic view of what their home would look like.

Re: Have You Heard Of Us?

Also, to clarify Big Dogs post, since I only know your software from visiting your site online; I don't believe that this provides a virtual tour, or a a 360* walk around panoramic view. Is that correct?

Or, maybe since I was only interested in the roof frontal views, I did not check into it deeply enough.

Could you clarify that point for Big Dog?

Also, does this software have only exterior remodeling potential, or also interior remodeling products available in the data base?

What are the lists of product lines in the current data base?

Robyn,
That is not a bad idea! I am going to have to check into it more.

Re: Have You Heard Of Us?

The software costs less than the cost to acquire 3 typical leads, so if you have a use for this, I firmly believe it will help those contractors out who meet with the HO's for a sit down presentation, to increase their closing ratios.

If I am correct in understanding that you would like to be able to do a virtual walk through or 360 degree view, unfortunately our software does not do that. You would probably need more 3D CAD capability. RWPro is best for taking a photograph or blue print and applying product to existing surface areas.

So far for the interior, we have some generic laminate & hardwood flooring and paint options. This is definitely an area we could expand if there is demand and manufacturers willing to participate.

The current product lines we have available are:
Roofing
Siding
Stucco
Trim
Accessories
Brick
Stone
Windows
Doors
Flooring
Paint

Within each product category we have multiple profiles, depending on the manufacturer.

Re: Have You Heard Of Us?

We currently use Google's Sketchup for our tile presentations.
We have ready made designs for backsplash, shower stalls, and floors.
And we have tile "textures" that we drag and drop in the 3D model.

Just to give you an idea of what you see when you open the software, this is your opening screen. When you register the software you enter in your company name and logo so your screen and print outs are personalized for your clientele.

Once you have downloaded the software, you choose which manufacturers products you use from our website.

I will take you through Patrick's project so you can see how close I come using images of Certainteed's siding!

Matt,

I have seen your examples of things you have created in SketchUp before, and you are pretty talented.

Do you think you could do an example of Patricks job using SketchUp as a comparison alongside the RenoWorks walk through. Use the Certainteed product he is using for his client, the same that Robyn will be doing, and lets see what differences there are and how long each product takes to produce the results.

Point out how long the tasks take, and how long it would take for someone to do it at a similar proficiency level as yourself too.

Is everybody ready? Both of you take ten steps back on my count, then turn around, and DRAW! (Clint Eastwood spaghetti Western theme music in the background.)

Re: Have You Heard Of Us?

A challenge, I like that. Google Sketchup from what I have heard is good, but quite complicated. However there may be times it has it's benefit, maybe for kitchen and bathrooms it sounds like. I look forward to seeing it Matt.

1. In RenoWorks, the first step is to import the picture into the software. First you click on the Open Tab where it says "Design with Your Photos". An automatic photo wizard walks you through if you need to brighten, adjust or crop the photo. This is also where you set the scale against a known measure. In this case I marked off the door as 6'8". This process takes less than 30sec.

I'll leave it at that for now in case anyone has any questions.

Re: Have You Heard Of Us?

Ed,
As a big time Google Sketchup user, I can tell you that RenoWorksPro will kill it as far as time involved. In Sketchup, you will have to model the entire exterior of the house, including windows, doors etc.. in Sketchup versus just using a photo in RWPro.

As far as interior remodeling, nothing will be able to beat Sketchup for presentations.

For ease of use I think RWPro for exterior remodeling is the best option at this time.

Now you can apply textures to a photo in Sketchup, but as far as quality, RWPro will have it beat.

Re: Have You Heard Of Us?

Thats sort of what I figured about exteriors Cole, but I am totally in the dark as far as the interior enhancements.

I think you do either SketchUp or Cad youself, if I remember correctly from a thread offer you made at the Club.

I am anxious to see the ease of use and the time for a learning curve because I do not want to have to learn something extreme right now. My plate is full with other tasks.

Re: Have You Heard Of Us?

Ed, I use ArchiCAD and Sketchup together.

As far as interior presentations, nothing will be able to beat Sketchup.

Sketchup, is fairly easy to use.

Not to hijack the thread, lol

Robyn, I am going to look at purchasing RenoWorksPro here probably in the next month.
