Guys With Newsletters?
How many people are you seeing sign up for them?
Is it worth the time and money spent on the creation of them etc... Thanks.

I am redoing my website and adding the newsletter feature on it. My thought on the newsletter is even if you have little sign ups, you could email it out to all your past and present clients, clients considering you, realtors, vendors etc. and just keep your companies name fresh in their mind. I can't tell you how many customers told me they just didn't think of me for a job for one reason or another. Just another way I would think to keep my name fresh in their mind. I think It is worth a shot atleast for a few months |

Re: Guys With Newsletters?
We did an e-mail newsletter a couple of years ago with an opt-in formula (we advertised it on our web site and told all our customers about it in a postal mailing). We quit doing it after about a year as we were only sending it to a relatively small number of people.
Over the past year, one of our clients has continued to suggest that we do more marketing via e-mail. We were hesitant as we didn't want to annoy our clients. Last month, we decided that it was too good an opportunity to ignore and formulated a new plan. We created a newsletter and sent it to all the current clients for whom we have e-mail addresses. We tried to keep it informational and entertaining with little or no salesmanship. Our idea is that it is more of an elbow in the ribs ("Hi, remember us?"). We included in the message that they should just let us know if they did not wish to receive the newsletter in the future and we would immediately take them off the list. We got a handful of bounced addresses ... far fewer than I would have guessed. We also got a handful of compliments and thanks for sending it. But the most surprising thing, to me, was that NOT ONE client asked to be removed from the list. NONE! Only time will tell if they will continue to want to see it and we have to do better at getting e-mail addresses for the clients that bounced or for whom we have no e-mail address. A very small number of our customers are not "e-mail enabled" and we've decided not to do a printed mailing of the newsletter to them due to time and costs. |

Re: Guys With Newsletters?
I get a couple of people a year to sign up but when they go thru the estimate page we email them every month with a new newsletter.
