Re: The Great Cell Phone Tragedy

Everybodies got the best package or deal for you, no matter how you look at it they are all offering different features for different values and which ones do you need. I have looked and layed it all out comparing feature to feature and believe it or not I found my best deal with Nextel. national 800 w free incoming, cost me $ 80.00/month plus $ 5.00 extra for all nextel/sprint to nextel/sprint included

So for $ 85.00 month my bill stops there, I use 2500 mins month average and never exceed my $ 85.00, the cell to cell (same network) saves a lot as I would say 60% of the guys I deal with have Nextel as well so those minutes do not go against 800, free incoming is great, again not eating up my airtime.

But this works for me, you need to see what plan/carrier has the package you need

Re: The Great Cell Phone Tragedy

I already have the service .....the phones just halfa$$ busted up.

I was shooting for recommendations on a new model ......Maybe I wasn't too clear on that.

I've been looking at the Blackberrys ......but I have no clue exactly what they do or whats the best model. I did see that they run windows .....that might be nice.

Any other input?

Re: The Great Cell Phone Tragedy

My wife just picked up one of those $500 PDA phones from Sprint and Verizon sells the same one.

I was all set to get one to untill I tried it out for a day There are to many damn buttons and it is hard to answer or call out in a hurry. My fingers are also to big to push those tiny little buttons.

I have now decided that my my rubber grip Sanyo contractor phone is the cats ass and will just keep it forever.

My best advice is "try it before you buy it" for at least a week. Good luck

Re: The Great Cell Phone Tragedy

Ck to see if Verizon has a rubber cased one. I finally have found the best Nextel "rugged" phone, the I 580....I have had 2 other supposed rugged phones from nextel (i560 and I 90) and they both sucked. This I 580 is the best.

so find a phone that has the "rubber" on all of it.

Re: The Great Cell Phone Tragedy

check out this deal for sprint/nextel

go to www.sprint.com/ sero and use the e-mail address savings@sprintemi.com and your zip code you cannot do this deal if you have ever had a sprint nextel line this is also for personal accounts only not business

I am considering this deal myself

http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobi...3/default.mspx

Tmobile $99 DASH ($49 after $50 rebate) the dash is like a blackberry email and other apps.... you can sign this account up under personal or business

wirefly.com is also worth checking out

Re: The Great Cell Phone Tragedy

I have the Motorola Q from Verizon. If your home PC is always on and connected you can use wireless sync and have all of your email, contacts, appointments and task, synced between outlook and your phone. Wife adds an appointment and it shows up in your phone!
You change a contact info or add a new one on the phone, it shows up in outlook.

Add in having a true internet browser so you can visit any website not just Mobile websites. I used it a while back to prove to a HD manager that the price list online for his store for 5/4 WRC was .80 cheaper.

And as mentioned having excel is also great, I've got spreadsheets that maintain inventory of certain items, cost of others etc. And I can view and maintain them on the phone.

I even have my entire moulding profile catalog on my phone as a PDF.

I will admit dailing (with keypad) without looking at the phone is impossilbe. And its not going to take the abuse of one of those "military issue" rubber mounted phones, but you will be suprised at the ways you can use it to make you more effienct.

true the smart phones save a heck of time & running around, catologs on memory cards, excel, for tracking anything & everything faxing from the truck email, maps, online phonebboks.......

but then again all cell phones suck.... just cool out & enjoy not having one for a bit....I know we need the dam things

Re: The Great Cell Phone Tragedy

I just picked up the blackberry pearl (8100) today

I purchased the unlimited data plan, and have already figured out how to tether my laptop via bluetooth

I am using quickbooks pro 06 and was wondering if there any apps worth installing that can intergrate into QB

any software recomendations? or protective cases? I picked up a silicone skin but not sure if it is the best option.
