After a couple of months of working on it,
our site is #1 in Google search for "tile contractor charlotte"

we pay nothing for hosting or seo, it's all done by muah

but what I can't understand is that a search for "tile charlotte" we're on page 6?

wondering how to bump up the tile charlotte search to at least 1st page

Fewer words are harder to get. More backlinks from trusted sites is the best way to get up in the results.

Right now you only have two backlinks in Google and they are both from your signature on this site: http://www.google.com/search?sourcei...paint%2ecom%2f

After a couple months of work.....man, get you an SEO company quick!! You are finally starting to see how much work it is, but guess what??? It doesn't stop there. You have to keep up on it all the time, and keep updating it. Take a look at your page rank here: http://www.prchecker.info/ This is a very important piece of the puzzle. Also, if the ONLY links pointing to your site are on here, you've got a TON of work still left to do. That #1 ranking won't last without back links.

I only want what I say to help, and I'm positive you can save money, time, and headaches by having a pro do it for you.

Otherwise the Google robot will just pass your page by ( revistiting days on your own choise ) but not less then 4 days. 7 is the average. You also should consider to get a goole site map. Among the SEO`s this is meanwhile a must.



For the rest I agree with Nathan: Quality backlinks...., quality backlinks.....,quality backlinks!

and if you look here: http://www.domain-pop.com/results.php there are a total of 65 sites with links to me...total links in google 16, yahoo 947, and msn 162.

There are plenty more than just a few from within my own site.

Matt, two things of interest;
#1. Watch the hits that show up from some of these sites. On the DIY site I use my company name and get tons of google listings. Sometimes the listings will show chopped up parts of a post. I had one that had my company name and "did a bad job" or sometihing similar--the post contained "did a bad job" but was not related to my company. The moderators were nice enough to edit the post.

#2. In refer to gay on-line stuff, I have ads at a couple gay sites that cost me nothing.

Yup, gay yellow pages, and a local gay directory. I have 5 kids, and am comfortable enough with my own sexuality to not be offended by others. We are listed as a gay friendly business, and we are. Personal choices of my customers are not my concern. I tend to find gay people have great taste and are usually willing to pay a little more for the job to be done right....just my kind of customer. I wouldn't want to stereotype them though. My favorite customer is the paying kind. Other than that, I could care less about their lifestyle.

Still wathing on Nathan, putting me on his list

The site is up for five days now. Usually it takes them three buisiness day to review a linking site ( if you pay for it,that is ).

Building up backlinks is like collecting vine, it takes it time till you get your results.
