Finding Your Rank For A Keyword

I could have sworn there was a way to find the rank of your site for a given keyword, but I'll be damned if I can find it now.

Anyone know how to do this? Other than paging through and counting of course...

Does Google alter search results based on how many times you've submitted the same search and what you've clicked on when you submitted that search previously?

I think google anylitics has a keyword tool that you can use to see which keywords work best for you. As far as google it is a mystery how they work.

Re: Finding Your Rank For A Keyword

Thanks for the responses guys.

I can't seem to find/figure out how to do it with Google webmaster tools.

George, I tried yours and the results agreed with another one I found soon after I posted (as usual I spend an hour looking, post in frustration, then find what I'm looking for 2 mins later...): http://www.rankingcheck.com/users/lo...rs%2Findex.php

You can set up an account and record up to 10 keywords on a free account, pretty cool.

Re: Finding Your Rank For A Keyword

There was also another one posted on here some time back, to see what keywords your competitors were using.

I think it was called www.KeywordCompete.com

edit:
That is just a parked domain currently.

Try this search. www.KeywordSpy.com was another one. Others are listed here.

http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q...+compete+tools

There are other ones out there too. I will check my favorites and see how many I have saved.

If that is not the correct link, don't shoot me, as I am typing it in from memory. But, try separating the words and Googling the term to find it if it does not work.

George, If you are having trouble, it may be because you haven't logged in to your account at Google.

If they don't know you, you can't use it.

And, it's Google's patented PageRank (TM) that it shows results for.

I have a way to find out what Google says about the relevance of your site pages too, if you are interested.

Since Google gets 80% of the search traffic, I haven't gotten around to learning about others yet.

I have logged in, and it's an amazing service thanks.
I found some things I need to change myself (duplicate meta tags etc.)
I just suspected what Orson was looking for was what I had.
It's been posted long time ago.

One more site for finding out information.

http://searchanalytics.compete.com/s...als/vdhinc.com

It will go to a site I was searching, but try your own free sample.

I use Yahoo as a webhost and it gives me that info when I sign on. I can change the keywords to see what the ranking is.
