Fax Machine That Saves To A Pdf
We do mostly public work so when someone faxes us a RFQ the usually send all the specs pertaining to the job. 99% of the specs we already have. So most faxs are like 10 to 40 pages, its killing me on paper.. Does anyone have or have seen a fax machine that would save the faxes to a computer like in a .pdf doc this way i can choose the pages to print. plus then from the .pdf i can also email them out.... thanks

Re: Fax Machine That Saves To A Pdf
google efax, there are other programs as well
I do not know of a machine that will do what you want, but you can get a program that will save your faxes as a doc (don't know which format) |

Re: Fax Machine That Saves To A Pdf
I had a small HP 4110 that saved FAX right to the HD.
It has since "expired" and is replaced by a Brother MFC 465CN...if it saves to HD, I am actually unsure.

Re: Fax Machine That Saves To A Pdf
Why are you still using a fax machine?
I don't think there is anyone around here that can't send you the plans, specs, etc. in a email. This way you can view them and print what you need. When I deal with the engineers, inspectors, etc. we all email documents back and forth. Usually in PDF format, but with the engineers usually in DWG format. But the engineers can send in PDF format if you don't have a way of looking at the DWG drawings, or they don't want you to mess with their drawings. Last edited by Kgmz; 12-21-2008 at 04:15 PM. |

i agree, 50% of the people still use fax.. if you want to send them a computer and teach them how to scan and use pdfs. i'll gladly give you contact info. lol.. but untill then i still have to use a fax machine for these stone age clients... on another note im amazed that they dont make a fax machine like this, or one that i can find easily on the internet! |

Re: Fax Machine That Saves To A Pdf
you don't need a modem. I use efax, and I'm sure there are others similar. Someone sends you a fax. They call a phone number, though it won't be the one you have now, and the efax company emails you the file. If you want to send a fax, same deal. Send it through email to efax and they send it for you. No more fax machine.

Re: Fax Machine That Saves To A Pdf
Huh?
Pretty much any multifunction printer/fax/scanner machine with a network port will do this. When they receive a fax you can either print it out, or have it emailed to you as a PDF, or both. I've been using a Dell 1815dn for 2 years.. not that I ever get faxes.. but it does it. |

Re: Fax Machine That Saves To A Pdf
Autodesk TrueView is a free dwg viewer. It sounds like you already have this base covered, but maybe others didn't know this.

Re: Fax Machine That Saves To A Pdf
I know of a product that I think accomplishes what you are looking to do
http://www.scantopdf.co.uk/?referrer=Google&gclid=CPmYt9DnqpcCFQE0xgodC11-iQ Unforutnately I do not know enough about this stuff to give better details since I just efax my docs (estimates, invoices, etc.) directly out of my system. Seems a little technical. It looks like you have to get deeper into it. Hope this helps. Happy holidays. Phil

Re: Fax Machine That Saves To A Pdf
My Brother MFC 420cn which has an updated newer model saves every fax internally, has software with it, the software allows you to view every fax and decide if u want to dump it or print it, what page to print etc. Its 3 yrs old and even then it only cost 125 bucks!!!!!!

Re: Fax Machine That Saves To A PdfQuote:
I would suggest consulting the documentation that came with it. It should list the options and the setup required for getting it to work with your email service. As I mentioned, pretty much all machines with a network port will have this option. I trialed several different models 2 years ago before I settled on this Dell. So I can only imagine that this is common now. |
