Re: Estimating Software

What do you mean based on excel?

Are you looking for a macro for Excel or are you looking for a program that can import from excel?

Re: Estimating Software

Lots of estimating programs have and Excel import and export functions. You can import your cost codes, pricing data, and other items from spreadsheets, and export estimates on spreadsheets in various formats. For me the core function of good estimating software is a set of tools to accurately get takeoffs from the plans in terms of length, area, count, volume, etc., and to manage all of the plans to ensure I didn't miss anything.

Re: Estimating Software

Iím looking for an estimating tool as well. I have a branded word template I created and plop in the details of the job, but would love some sort of program or tool that is either excel based or something proprietary that is built along the same lines and can automate the process for me.

Curious to hear what you guys have used, the good, bad and everything between.

Re: Estimating Software

Any tool you get is still going to require you to enter your numbers
