Estimating / Project Manager Software
Hello all. We recently were at the 2008 world of concrete looking for estimating and project manager software to update our companies needs. There were about 100 different programs and it soon became overwhelming looking at them all. We currently use timberline for our accounting needs and would like something that could interface with that, but it is not necessary. We were impressed with "Tradesmans's" for masonry takeoffs and estimating, but it doesn't do concrete. Does anyone have any recomondations on software programs? Pro's and Con's?
Thanks much |

Re: Estimating / Project Manager Software
Do a search in this forum and you will find a great amount of information on software tested and currently used by General contractors. If you find one you are interested in, chances are I or someone has it or tested it.

Did you look at Quest? It is now a Maxwell product, they were at the show, but I know many concrete contractors on Quest, I run into them all the time.

Re: Estimating / Project Manager Software
The issue you have is that Sage has pretty much limited your ability to tie other estimating programs into your Timberline Accounting. To prove my point Sage when they bought MasterBuilder basically dissolved their relationship with Quest Estimating.
Quest saw the writing on the wall and now recently sold their company to Maxwell Systems, which has a whole array of software products for the construction industry.

Absolutely true. I know many contractors who use Master Builder who use Quest, from way back. And I know dealers who loved the Quest product and were very disappointed when Sage disolved the relationship.
