Database And Subs
Hey guys I am a new guy here, Just hoping to get a few answers.
I am wondering if there is another GC out there using software to catalog their subs. All of my subs info are in folders by state. I would like to know if there is any software available that allows you to enter a subs info like address, phone etc. As well as their trade , maybe an option that shows their bid frequency to. An example would be if I entered this sub into the database and was able to search for them by their trade, state or county. There'sgot to be something like this out there I am just having a trouble finding it. Any help would be appreiated. Jay |

Re: Database And Subs
Well there is always, Microsoft Access, but the learning curve can be verrrrrrrrrrrrrry steep, but it would be possible to create anything you wanted with it. I've created a few crazy custom databases with it.
Or, do you use quick books? They have an add on called contact manager which should do what you want too. |

Re: Database And Subs
Lotus Organizer would be an easy program to do this. Also, it may sound a little weird, but you could also set up a simple Quicken program to keep all the info you need on subs. Both allow you to "find" and will show results according to the criteria you entered. Both are also cheap and easy.

Re: Database And Subs
Why not just enter the info in olumns in Excel, and use "Autofilters" to let you sort/parse the data by column heading? You could click on the dropdown in the "State" column, and select the state you want to see, and it'll hide everyone who's not in that state. Same for trade, zip code, or any other factor you want to sort by.
